Tribute to Duane Ebarb from Mitch Iddins: EXCLUSIVE “Talk of the Town with Tom Pace” 9-6-18

An outspoken, better yet, a “passionate” advocate for those with disabilities, Duane Ebarb passed away early Thursday morning, September 6th, 2018 from complications suffered in a car accident.

Visitation will be Monday, September 10th, 2pm at Christ United Methodist Church, 1204 Crabapple Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71118. Funeral service will follow immediately at 3pm.

Duane Ebarb was known for his infectious smile, and never ending love of life, filled with the joy of helping others. (On a personal note, I have known Duane for more than 40 years, and NEVER once, did he ever complain about his plight, instead choosing to use his God-given talent for effecting change to help others.)

Ebarb, 69 years old, was paralyzed due to a spinal cord accident when diving into the water back in 1968.

However, in spite of being confined to a wheelchair, Duane embraced the opportunity  to fight for those with all disabilities by working with local governments, the Louisiana Governors office, state and local senators and representatives, along with outreach disability groups.

May you Rest in Peace, my brother. You’ve now traded in your motorized wheelchair, for the freedom to run and jump thru God’s Eternal Kingdom, sharing the love with others who were there before you.

Duane Ebarb, you will be missed by all. God Bless. Sincerely, Tom Pace
