The Northwest Louisiana Family Justice Center (NWLA FJC) will host a “People of Courage” Benefit Luncheonon Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, 315 Clyde Fant Parkway, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Funds raised at this event will enable the NWLA FJC to continue providing services to survivors of domestic violence in nine (9) northwest Louisiana parishes.
Mr. Michael Mason, Senior Vice President and National Chief Security Officer with Verizon Corporation will be the keynote speaker. He is a retired Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Agent with extensive experience in working with cyber security crimes, narcotics investigations and public corruption. Prior to joining Verizon, Mr. Mason was the Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington, DC Field Office.
Mr. Mason is on the Advisory Board of the Alliance for Hope International, an organization focused on the eradication of domestic violence both domestically and internationally. He has addressed many audiences on the subject of domestic violence and the manner in which Verizon is working to address this problem.
As part of the event, in conjunction with Domestic Awareness Month, a Resource Fair, will be held by the by the Caddo/Bossier Domestic Violence Task Force from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., highlighting services and programs available to victims of domestic violence.
Also at the luncheon a drawing will be held for a 18kt amethyst & diamond pendant valued at $715.00, donated by Sid Potts Jewelers.
