The Historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium will be rockin’ as country music superstar Vince Gill will be yet another performer on the stage to help celebrate guitar icon James Burton on his 75th birthday for his 2014 International Guitar Festival.

The addition of Gill to Burton’s star-studded lineup was confirmed this weekend by James’ wife, Louise Burton. The Vosburys (Robin, Cole, and grandmother Nita Lynn) will also be among the 18 guest stars for the 7:30pm concert, this Saturday, August 23rd.
One of the founding members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, (inducted in the very first class of 2001 by Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards), Shreveport native James Burton is best-known around the world as: “The Man Who Made the Fender Telecaster Famous.”
Burton officially turns 75 this August 21st, and this will be a big birthday celebration in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana to honor him.
Along with Vince Gill, several of the top names in music and entertainment are scheduled to appear, including Paul Shaffer(the David Letterman Late Show) Priscilla Presley, & Trace Adkins from Sarepta, Louisiana, just to name a few.

Here are the 18 artists in the Official Lineup: James Burton, Trace Adkins, Priscilla Presley (Special Guest) Vince Gill, Paul Shaffer (David Letterman Show) Richie Furay, Noel Haggard, Rob Haynes, Gunner Nelson, Lee Rocker, Ann Wilson, Mike Wolfe, Jimmie Vaughn, Rick Vito, The Vosburys, Billy Burnette, Doyle Dykes, and Lincoln Brewster.
The International Guitar Festival is a three-day event, beginning Friday, August 22nd, with the big Festival Concert Saturday, August 23rd, concluding with a free concert (tickets required) presented by The James Burton Foundation and The Simple Church.
